UGS is awarded AJGA Exemptions and Golfweek Ranking for SJO
Universal Golf Solutions, in its never ending effort to improve their tournaments, is excited to announce some changes and new partners for the 2010 Southwest Junior Championships. Our new partners have the same dedication to be the best of the best that we strive for at UGS. We are sure that these new relationships will add to the overall experience for our players.
The first announcement is in regards to the 2010 Southwest Junior Open July 16-18th. In addition to being a Junior Golf Scoreboard Ranked Tournament, the SJO will also be a Golfweek Ranked Tournament with the Boys and Girls Championship winners being awarded an AJGA Exemption. Both the boys and girls 14-15 and 16-18 year old divisions will be combined to form the Championship Division. We will still award prizes for the 14-15 year old divisions and the 16-18 year old divisions. However, the results will be combined for all rankings and exemptions. This will help strengthen the level of the field for the rankings.
With UGS’s commitment to provide high quality championship venues and AJGA’s PGA TOUR quality junior golf, we have aligned our events allowing our top performers to test their skills against some of the best players in the country. The exemptions help the players get into tournaments with their performance based entry system.
Not only is GolfWeek one of the industry’s top magazines, but they also provide the top ranking service for golfers of all levels. Their junior golf rankings are composed using results from the best tournaments in the country. It is also the preferred ranking system of college golf coaches.
UGS is also pleased to announce some new partners for 2010 to go along with our existing partnerships. AT&T, the leader in telecommunication services, has joined the Southwest Junior Championships family and our efforts to support junior golf.
Also coming on board is ProPlay and their ProPlay Performance System. Their Athletic Performance System allows athletes to see immediate results using state of the art video technology.
We are also very excited to have Dr. Pepper/Snapple on board again this year as they celebrate their 125th year in business. Dr. Pepper/Snapple is the official soft drink provider of all Southwest Junior Championship tournaments.
Universal Golf Solutions will continue to work to build more relationships that add to your tournament experiences. Please stay tuned as we will have more announcements in the near future.
