UGS/SJO Announces Exciting Expansion In 2010

Universal Golf Solutions (UGS) is very excited to announce some great new opportunities for 2010.  Building on our strong first year in business, we’ve been able to add something for golfers of all ages and abilities.  In doing so, we have aligned ourselves with even more exciting partners and worthy charities.

UGS started with the goal of impacting the golf community and the overall community as a whole. Our intent was to provide opportunities for everyone, and not just on the golf course. Through our handful of junior events and charity events, UGS was able to do just that in 2009 and we will continue to strive for that goal in 2010 and beyond.

Junior golf tournaments were targeted as the backbone of UGS from the very start. As a company, we aimed to give junior golfers tournaments that they would remember for years to come. Tournaments that they would, currently and in the future, let their youngsters participate in. In order to accomplish that, we understand and truly believe we would have to focus on the quality of the golf tournament, not the quantity. It is for this reason that UGS does not run a tour, but rather four independent tournaments a year and also everyone that works for UGS is also an owner of UGS. One other note, because we at UGS also have full-time day jobs, this doesn’t allow us to dedicate the time needed to run multiple events per month, let alone in one weekend.

The Southwest Junior Open (SJO) is the signature premiere event of Universal Golf Solutions. Played to raving reviews of more than 120 players, the inaugural 2009 Southwest Junior Open was a sure sign that a new tradition had began on the junior golf scene. Modeled around a British Open Championship theme, the SJO was hosted at one of the premiere public golf courses in America, The Tribute Golf Club. Winners of each division even won their own Claret Jug!

UGS has been able to partner with some great companies that share our passion for kids in the community. Additional partners will be added as the year progresses. Current partners include:

* PGA TOUR Superstore – Presenting sponsor for the SJO

* Dr. Pepper/Snapple – Official Soft Drink sponsor

* Amino Vital – Official Sport Supplement sponsor

* TaylorMade/Adidas Golf – Official Ball, Equipment, & Apparel sponsor

* New York Life – Partner for Child ID program ran in conjunction with SJO

* Southwest Greens – Official Putting/Chipping Greens

* AT&T - Official Wireless Provider of the UGS/SJC

* InfraGolf – Official Website Design and Management Group

* The First Tee of Arlington

* Pro Play Performance System – Official Video Equipment

With the new-year comes a little expansion for the UGS family of junior golf tournaments. We are pleased to announce that UGS will also be hosting the Southwest Winter Open and the Lone Star Memorial. Kay Dalke, who now serves as the official USGA Rules Official for all UGS events, previously managed these two events. The Southwest Winter Open will be held February 13-14 at the #1 golf resort in Texas, Barton Creek Resort and Spa. The Lone Star Memorial will be played at The Tribute Golf Club in The Colony.

As you can see, Universal Golf Solutions is off to another great start. We are very excited about all of the possibilities ahead of us in 2010. Every tournament or event that we host or manage will be an event designed to make an impact in the community. With every event that UGS manages, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to non-profits like The First Tee, or children’s hospitals, or for fighting prostate cancer.

Just like the game of golf, Universal Golf Solutions is a company based on three core principles: Honesty, Integrity, and Respect of Others. At UGS we undoubtedly have a passion for golf…we have a passion for helping people…and we have a passion for creating memories that will last a lifetime. We sincerely hope to see you in 2010 and beyond as we endeavor to fulfill our passions and the passions of others.
